I am considering taking off the sky, one touch top and replacing it with one of the following and would like to hear your thoughts on these
https://www.twotrackcampers.com/
https://https://ursaminorcampers.com/

https://www.vlife4wd.com/

The v life camper is the least expensive buy about 3000 but requires. I use my rear glass from my original top. It also has the least amount of space inside the camper top one closed and the thinnest mattress.

The ursa minor it’s probably the most expensive by the time you add the racks and stuff to it. It also has the most options and I think the longest wait time. Not sure of the space inside.

The two track camper has the least options and access from the inside front

I’m not exactly sure of the weight of any of them

I would like to hear your thoughts on these options because many of you have a very different way of seeing things than others, and

I think that perspective would be very beneficial in helping me to make this decision

I also consider going with an exterior roof rack like a Gobi or Ars but those are about 2500 to start then you have to get an rtt and all in all I think it’s gonna be heavier without access from the inside, which is something I would like

as always thanks for your input

Mostly, I would be interested in what the added weight would be. Extra weight up top will affect drivability, both on and off-road, and you may have to factor in stiffer or adjustable suspension to compensate.

Other than that, Ursa Minor has been around for quite a while. I've never heard of the other two. I would want to talk to someone who has run each for a while to pick their brain before going with one of the other options.

there actually was a post on this site, but I think bronco 88 who had one and it got a pretty good review but I tried to contact him and never got a response so but he had camped out in it in a rainstorm in Tennessee and get pretty good descriptions, I’m gonna see if I can reread that

I have an Ursa Minor J30, and love it. The scissor hinge is a unique feature that has a lot of benefit.; it provides more sleeping room, and keeps more of the hard roof over the tent fabric for better water shedding. It's listed at 290 lbs and 165 lbs more than the factory hardtop; I've been surprised at how little difference the weight has made to handling (but I do have AEV heavy-duty lift springs).. There are some good posts and threads from a forum member who has one. Consider joining the Ursa Minor Jeep Owners Facebook group to learn more about it.

I'd be a little wary about the Two Track; it could be a great product, but it's a very new one (seems to be mostly at the prototype stage?), and some similar companies before them didn't survive. In any case, front-seat access and rear-hinging would be a deal-breaker for me, but I believe the unit has a cargo-area hatch, too.

I don't know what I think about the Chinese units. The price-point is attractive, and they seem to have cool features (gullwing windows), but somehow they look (in photos/video) a little less robust.

They had a two-track at Expo East last year So I was able to get a chance to see it in person. I wasn’t impressed, it seemed unfinished in both design and execution Which I would expect from a prototype. The fiberglass was rough and it didn’t fit well with the body lines. The front hinge seems like a weak point to me since there’s no (not much I guess) factory structure in that area. I’m hopeful that they get a full production model going so there’s another option In the replacement top camper field.

I’ve been looking at Ursa Minor for a long time but I can’t justify the cost (yet!).

Supposedly, Two Track purchased the design (and possibly molds) from a company that was never able to bring any of their camper designs to market - makes me wonder how mature the design was/is.
