Agreed. Always the first question. I kinda liked the way it was offered to be honest. I don't know how long it will take for my jeep to get here, and my dealer knows I might even change my order to sting gray when available, which would hold things up longer. And he's ok with that. He gave me a generous amount of mileage not to go over, and he offered me 1500 more for my trade than anyone else.

I felt it was fair... But what do I know :)

My dealer has offered me a value for my trade, and then told me the number will fluctuate based on the principle owing at the time the jeep arrives. If my loan payout is a thousand less than at the time we signed, the trade offer will be a thousand less, leaving my numbers effectively the same. Is that common?
You should have what they pay for your trade in writing. It shouldnt change. Now the delta between THAT and your oayoff would, but its a totally know value. So if you are putting your full trade into the jeep, your new loan may change based on the additional payments you make while you wait for your jeep.

Get the trade value in writing with the additional meage you need to drive it for 2-3 months.

The full offered value is on my poc, the rest was a verbal agreement. I've bought from him before, and these guys aren't out to rip people off (said the guy getting ripped off?? Haha) . If things aren't right when the day comes, I trust we'll sort it out.

Do you think it is a good idea to request (or demand) that your custom ordered JL not be test driven by employees or prospective clients?
If yes, what is the best way to respectfully approach it?

The day my JL got delivered I texted my salesman "Can you please be sure no one test drives or joy rides in it. See you then thank you" haha they never replied back to it but I just wanted to make sure I tell them .

I am interested in the question but yeah... 3x... I like that the grab bar on your iPhone X accidentally(?) underlined ‘the best way to respectfully’.
Ha Ha, I just couldn't get the tag right! :headbang:, that or I was just stutttering...

I did an inventory search at the dealer I purchased from and they do not have any JLUR in stock. I don't want them to use mine to teach all the sales staff how it drives. It would be like a Ferris Bueller's Day Off - "We are paid professionals!" :surprised:

My JLUR arrived with 3 miles. I test drove it to 9. I then left it there for over a week since I had to travel for work out of town. My salesman kept the keys locked in his desk and or even took them home with him to ensure nobody drove it or allowed customers to drive it until I came back. When I picked it up it had 11 miles I suspect was from prep and getting gas. It was parked back in the same spot I left it when I returned.

Bottom line lean on your salesman to ensure it’s not driven. If it would have had 20 or more unexplained miles on it I would have walked away and ordered another one. It feels good to have been the only person to really drive the Jeep besides the factory techs and dealer prep team.

This was one of the concerns I addressed to the dealer when I ordered my JL. They said they never let anyone even sit in the seat, let alone drive a special order vehicle. I can attest to that as they had one there, and let me walk around it but they wouldn't even unlock the door so I could peek in. They told me they'd keep mine in the wash bay out of public sight when it comes in.

Oh yeah. He also placed a SOLD sign inside my Jeep as well. Kinda let other buyers know it was spoken for.
