I just got a build setup with a dealer and it mentions "151 Zone 51-Chicago" under options. I'm located in Central IL, so would this matter. What does this line item mean?

FCA has zones that dealers are designated in and provides a locator for where the vehicle will head for the transport department. Locations of delivery are known before the build begins so they can be grouped after being built to fill a railcar or truck going to the same area.

So if I'm buy from a dealer in central MO, then this is probably going to rail to Chicago, then a truck to central MO?

Not necessarily. The transport department determines the best carrier to the final destination and then the nearest drop point that carrier has to the area the dealer is in. There are about 76 zones for domestic and export locations including ones for Kansas City and St. Louis. My zone was Denver but they didn't send mine to Denver then back to Nebraska. It went to IA. Another member had Dallas zone but her's went to TN where St. Louis zone would seem to be closer.
It's an internal designation. If it said Zone - Export then you should be worried.

Thanks for the information. It sounds pretty random. My dealer is in MO and he did mention that their's is normally Chicago. And it doesn't say export, lol
