Update build spec after order?

Does anyone know if it's possible to update a build spec after a custom order has been placed, and if so, how long do you have before a build is locked?

I'm only curious in the event the XR package is expanded to other models later this month. Jim Morrison made a statement in the July press release that later this year the XR package would be announced for additional models. I recently ordered a 4xE Rubicon this week, and while I doubt XR will be added as an option in 2021 to 4xE, I was just curious if anyone has ever updated a custom order after a VIN has been issued.


Even with the NY Auto Show canceled this year, I bet Jeep will still announce a few things.

I was told by a dealer that once a custom is moved to status "D" it can't be changed.

i was told same, can’t change. Was a little frustrating since they cant confirm a delivery date and its been stuck in gathering parts for a while. I said if you have what’s difference if I want add a package
