I'm sure it can be different depending on the insurance provider - all of mine have always been covered under the "non-collision" claims filings... nothing specific for glass, just the same part of the policy that would cover a tree falling on it, someone running a grocery cart into it, etc. Ultimately just make sure you discuss it with your insurance company to make sure you understand your liability for windshield glass replacement, because unless you're extremely lucky then most likely you'll need it at some point with a Wrangler
OK. Thanks for the advice! Will make sure I follow it when it's time to buy insurance :)

Those windshield fixer kits do work if you get to a star point before it cracks.

Holy smoke........ even with the JL windshield design, I still caught a windshield full of bugs today on a road trip. I guess the joys of Wrangler ownership!
Move to Canada, haven’t seen a bug in MONTHS since it’s still f#%+* winter up here !!! Lol

We’ve been bouncing between 70’s and 30’s so bugs aren’t too bad yet... but they will be...no different than when I’m on my Iron Horse

I know this is a 2 month old thread... but FYI, you’re referring to your Comprehensive coverage. It covers animals (livestock/deer standing in the middle of the road), fallen trees, hail, cracked windshields, theft, etc.

That said, the cost of a windshield replacement has always been lower than our Comprehensive deductibles. (Comp deductibles are often $500, but depends on the policy.) Does anyone know the cost to replace a JL windshield?? If they’re chipped that easily, maybe it’s actually worth replacing it with Mopar’s Gorillaglass after the first crack...

All three JK windshields I replaced were about $250, and yes, they were less than my deductible. Three other times I successfully stopped a crack from forming by using that auto parts store vacuum-y windshield chip fixer.

It doesn't really bother me that much to have a crack unless it's always in my sightlines. Right now my (still unsold) JK has a top edge to bottom edge crack that I haven't bothered with for at least three years, probably more.

Take a microfiber run under hot water till sopping wet and wipe your windshield and grill every day. If you get them daily, before they bake on there, they come right off with no pressure.

Thanks for your explanation. Fallen trees come under 'acts of God' and are not included in my plan.
