I have the Quart sub and one thing about it is that it is identical in dimensions to the factory sub and utilizes the rear bolt. That adds reinforcement to the enclosure by using the frame of the sub to stiffen the enclosure. Also swapping out the AmpPro for a Fosgate DSR-1 makes a difference as well.

Yes, this makes a lot of sense to me regarding the rear bolt helping stiffen up the box and prevent accordion type movement.

So please learn from my somewhat expensive journey. IMHO the options are:

1 - Get a real box that you can live with fitment wise
2 - MB Quart drop in sub
3 - Re-power OEM sub with amp and add poly fill

I would've saved money going directly to #1 or #2. The price differential between #1 and #2 aren't huge, maybe ~$100. #3 is probably enough for the majority of people. The MB Quart mono amp (NA2-400.1) can be found for fairly cheap online.

FWIW, I left the Kicker in there and had a quick disconnect plug installed, so I can switch back should I feel the need to remove the box for whatever reason.

I first did number three. When I installed the stage 6, I also obtained a 400.1 for the third slot on the amp rack. Tried a 10tw3 and could not get it to sound right and re-wired the factory sub. Shout out to @carstereochick for the details. I knew about the Quart drop in sub from Quart support while sorting out my install but they did not have an precise time line for it coming to market so I bought a BRP adapter last fall. The ID of original design was too wide for anything besides a Fosgate sub and went back to the factory sub. The Quart drop in was released right after Christmas and I have had it in since January. Obviously better than the stock sub and IMO the best option unless you want to go with something larger.
