Just picked up a 2018 JLUR with about 35k miles last week. Aside from discovering the infamous corrosion issue after the fact (dealer conveniently showed me the Jeep soaking wet), I’m honestly liking the vehicle so far aside from the bubbles in the paint .
Only thing I’m not impressed with is the sound system.
It has the factory Alpine setup, and while it’s decent, it just doesn’t have enough low end for me. I own an Alpine Type R 12” sub and Alpine mono amp from a previous vehicle that I’d like to reuse.
What I’m trying to figure out is:
Can I add the sub and mono amp while still keeping the factory Alpine system fully intact and functioning?
Most of the threads I’ve found are from people removing/replacing the entire Alpine setup, but I’m really just looking to supplement it with my existing sub setup.
I also just ordered a Stinger Horizon 10 to replace the uconnect unit, so that’ll be going in soon as well once I sort out the sub install.
If anyone has done something similar or has recommendations on the cleanest way to integrate it, I’d appreciate the help.
