Brand new JLU soft top bracket broken

I live in central Virginia and bought a 2022 JLU Wrangler this weekend. They drove it from Cincinnati and met me in Virginia. I took possession of the vehicle and drove it home. It was quite windy going through the mountains but nothing insane, 2 hours into the trip the passenger side window snap off and starts flinging in the wind. I pulled over and immediately assessed what was going on. I couldn’t see any damage however I did notice that the white bracket piece that connects to the actual soft top had broken off. I spoke to the dealership and they’ve told me to pound sand that soft tops are not covered under warranty and I had taken possession of the vehicle. I’m wondering how integral this piece is? It looks like it simply helps slide on the soft window, I am pressing for them to fix this issue but this looks like they would need to literally replace the whole soft top. I have attached photos as well.

Your soft top and basically every other part on the car, except tires, is covered under warranty.

I spoke to the dealership and they’ve told me to pound sand that soft tops are not covered under warranty and I had taken possession of the vehicle.

It is 100% covered under warranty. Go to a different local dealership. Any Jeep dealership has to cover warranty work if you bring your vehicle to them.

Who is the dealer? Others should know what they told you so people can avoid them.

You should definitely be covered. Who is the "they" that drove it to Virginia?? The Dealer?? Was it on a lot in Cincinnati ? Just wondering about the treatment before you got it. Was this "New" or "Used"??

yes the dealer had some of their guys that do deliveries drive it to me. I showed up on cars.com about 4 days before I started talking to dealership so not sure if it sat there long but it was brand new has 10 miles on it, so I assume it didn’t sit very long.

****UPDATE****

Ive been in AZ for work for the past 4 weeks, about a week and a half after taking ownership. since the piece broke, they told me when i get back to call a local dealership and explain the issue, they also sent me soft side window extras at no cost, and they sent me a check for tax, registration, and fees. I believe this was done as they registered it in Ohio and ate the cost (not sure ??) instead of Virginia.
