I'm due for brakes and looking at my otions. What's the general consensus on non-OEM replacements? Are there any brands or kits worth mentioning for the 2 door?

I have a 35s and heavier bumpers and winch and hoping for a little bit better stopping power that what I got with the OEM brakes and rotors on the Rubicon.

... is there something that makes the other kits 4-door specific or not good for the 2-door? Like, "Oh my gosh! I have too much stopping power!"

If they work on the 4 door, they will work on the 2 door. Buy what meets your needs and budget.

I would do Hawk LTS pads plus a high-carbon solid brake rotor like the Duralast Gold. That's probably about the most aggressive combo you can get short of upgrading the calipers.

Has any tried the Powerstop Z36 kit? This seems like a decent deal.

Powerstop Z36 pad may help for a stock or slightly modified jeep.
On my wife's stock Rubicon they work well.
On my highly modified heavy Willys Terafex Delta brakes where the answer.
When doing brakes it is a good idea to do an ABS bleed to make sure you do not have any trapped air in the system.

I put Powerstops on my JK on 37s and they worked pretty well. When it is time to do my JL, I will probably go with another set of Powerstops.
