Angels Envy still one of my favorites ever. Never had the Booker though, how is it?
Both of the Envys are good, but I do prefer the port-finished bourbon over the rum-finished rye (the rum-finished rye is a bit sweet for my taste).

The Booker's is a bit harsh compared to the others I have at the moment. Not *too* harsh, but just on the cusp of being so. If you tend to favor smoother bourbons, I don't think you'd be happy with Booker's (especially at that price point).

Booker's used to be so much better, before they went to "batch" releases. Now every batch is different whereas it used to be consistently good. They were the first barrel strength bourbon; they just didn't do any marketing about it.

Baker's used to be super harsh for me. But they recently changed to a Single Barrel and it's gotten so much better. Now I prefer Baker's to Booker's.

Great response, thank you! I do not like anything too harsh, I can do it but I don't enjoy it and it I end up nursing it far longer than I should until it's either gone or I pour it out. Smooth is where it's at for me. I'll stay away haha.

If you like smooth, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle of Jefferson's Ocean. The current voyage (23) is like silk. I found it here in PA for $80ish and it is worth every penny, IMO.

I only started drinking Bourbon within the last few years and still don't have a super definitive variety under my belt, but these are my favorites so far in no particular order...

Knob Creek 9yr, Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Woodford Reserve

Most recently I have been working on a bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch

Good for you. Keep in mind that no matter what anyone else likes or recommends, only you have your taste buds. You can try it rocks, neat, splash of water, soda, or however you like. I like a good whiskey sour which makes some “purists” gasp and clutch their pearls. ?

Cheers!
This is a good point. Some I like on the rocks, some straight, some with sour, and some in an Old Fashioned. Different bourbons will invoke different flavors to pair with.

Woodford Reserve and Elijah Craig Small Batch are my favorites in that lower-mid price point. Definitely 2 great buys.

Great list of every day drinkers! I always have those on hand for a quick pour. If you can find a bottle of Eagle Rare, highly recommended!

If you're looking to branch out, I recommend trying any of the Old Forester offerings. I've yet to have a bottle from there that I did not like.

I have seen Eagle Rare mentioned in this thread a few times so will check it out, thanks!

OF Seems to be popular in this thread as well. I haven't seen it locally but will try to seek it out.

I was at a Bjs club store today that had a liquor section and they had a few I almost bit on but some quick scan of online reviews scared me off. The two I was looking at were Willet Pot Still Reserve and Basil Hayden's, anyone have thoughts on those?

For me, Basil Hayden's is as good as it gets in that $40-50ish price point. If you are looking to step outside of the bourbonsphere for a bit, try their dark rye - fabulous...

I hate Blanton's  Just kidding. Yes that is two empty bottles (no I did not buy the tops), one half empty bottle and in the box is another full bottle and then two more full bottles just in case we have an ice storm and stuck inside. :like:
