I think Tequila is going to continue to be on the rise. Like you, I see more people going for tequilas because of the better availability and pricing. I see local stores pushing it on social media more often now. Even the Total Wine by me has moved tequilas from 3 aisles deep to the main aisle in the store.
Yep, it's friggin' inevitable. Though, hopefully when tequila, vodka, gin, whatever comes back into vogue, bourbon will move back towards being reasonable and available. That's why I'm picking one spirit on each side of the seesaw 😁

I’ve been enjoying anything new I can try. Did a small 6 tasting at boots in the park concert a couple weekends ago with the wife. Really enjoyed these two bin and tucker and the high west bourbon. And for a house warming cheers for my buddy I got him a bottle of Kentucky owl confiscated bourbon whiskey. Was really tasty and I finally tried Heavens door. This might be the new sipper drink

This thread has been quiet lately. Miss you guys. What’s everyone drinking? Picked up a few half bottles recently to try some new things - OF 1910, Yellowstone, Wyoming, nothing too fancy. Friend gave me a bottle of Smooth Ambler Old Scout that I also need to crack open. As a Whistlepig and Solo Stove fan, this is also tempting… (adding a zoom in on the label)

I picked up a bottle of Rebel 100 x 6 and found it to be quite good.

Its smooth, goes down easy...

I've been working my way though the Penelope collection. That's some pretty tasty stuff. Got a bottle of Jack Daniels Single Barrel, barrel proof rye bottled at 134.7 proof. Pretty stout stuff, but delicious.

I've gotta stop buying bottles. 😃 Another Maker's Private Selection, a Southern Star Paragon Single Barrel Cas Stregth and a Thirteenth Colony 2024 Cask Strength somehow ended up coming home on our little day trip to get peaches in Central GA today.

Been enjoying some Michters small batch bourbon. It's good. There are some others that I enjoyed more at the price though.

The American is my favorite (since the toasted barrels are unobtainium)
It's what I put in the flask on kayak and jeep outings

Sounds good to me.

Which brings to this: I don't what you guys can get where you live. But in Texas, we a LOT of beers that are aged in used Bourbon Barrels and the beers are 5% +, some up to 9% and I love them, great beers brewed in Texas...

I've had a few barrel aged beers and have enjoyed them. I just can't drink more than a beer anymore without getting uncomfortably bloated. I used to really enjoy beers, but between the bloated feeling and the carbs, I've really backed off drinking them. My son has one sitting in the garage fridge that if he doesn't drink it soon, I'm going to help him out with it.

Agreed. I truly enjoy a good pint. But the dark aged beers that you mentioned are something that I enjoy more seasonally. When I'm hot out, I don't typically crave those dark, thick, strong ales and stouts as much. I tend towards some of the beers from places like Martin House that offer some unique choices like the colab with Deli Maid pickles for a beer.
