I went through 1 Touring and 3 S-Types and the last S-Type was supposed to have the new 3rd generation coating which was the supposed fix for the peeling.

Hi, I'm sorry to see that your tips have peeled as well. I brought this up to our Customer Service team and it sounds like you've already reached out to us. You should expect to hear from us soon. I'm sorry for the trouble! Please let me know if you do not receive a response from the Customer Service team.Same issue. Borla ATAK on my JL. Less then 500 miles and the left tip is already flaking. One side was scratched from shipping. Absolutely no padding between the box and tip on one side. My Jeep literally doesn’t see rain or dirt. Poor finish, poor packaging.

I did mention this to Borla when I first talked to them, they stated that if it happens again they will send the non-coated one.Sorry, but the cynical side of me thinks, "That's nice that they are responding and replacing the defective units", but sounds like they haven't fixed the problem and just figure it's easier to ship another system. I have the non-coated stainless system and I love it, sounds great, looks great, but I can imagine the frustration of you guys, and it definitely diminishes my opinion of Borla.
Borla has struggled with this from day one. I had three replacements and gave up on them. When combined with the droning, it was not worth messing with.Same issue here, just installed last weekend and paint already chipped off (< 100 miles). I am going to do the same with high-temp black paint but just wanted buyers to know they should still expect this issue and have to work around it by painting themselves. (Note I didn't order from Borla but a well known vendor so might be old stock but by now, that shouldn't be an issue with a top tier vendor).

I haven't noticed any drone but I have a manual so maybe I am unconsciously shifting to avoid it!Borla has struggled with this from day one. I had three replacements and gave up on them. When combined with the droning, it was not worth messing with.
When I had 4.10's and 35's, on long trips (say from Houston to Colorado Springs) between 65 and 75, it would drone to the point of being a real PITA. I jerked it off before I re-geared to 4.88 so I could not say if that would have helped by having the engine in a different RPM range at those speeds.I haven't noticed any drone but I have a manual so maybe I am unconsciously shifting to avoid it!.
I had the same issue a few months back as well. About the same mileage as well. I contacted Borla customer service and was shipped a replacement in less then 5 days. I did not have to return the existing exhaust. 2,000 miles later and there is no chipping. Might be worth a call into them, they did remedy the issue with me in a very timely manner.Same issue here, just installed last weekend and paint already chipped off (< 100 miles).
