I was at Hidden Falls this past weekend and got in a tight spot. I was able to self recover, but also mangled my rear driver corner. I got a quote to get it fixed and decided it would be better if I tried to fix it myself. I’m not completely finished, but this is more or less how it will be.

Edit: This was my first time trying to do body work. I know it doesn’t look like I did much, but it took me the better part of a day to get the fuel lid and tail light to sit somewhat flush.

Dang that stinks. Do you remember which trail you were on?

Turkey Creek. I can’t seem to get over the one ledge on that little loop. Every time I try I end up getting high centered while my rear end kicks over driver side. My snafu actually happened after I had to pull myself off the ledge and moved off the trail to let a pair of motorcycles pass. The trail has a downhill slope that looks innocuous but sucks me down right into the trees, every time.

But I did get up the Baby Back ledges finally.

That just means you do Jeep things.

It's a bummer for sure but at least it's just cosmetic and doesn't keep you from driving it.

You can buy metal corner panels from a number of different companies that will completely cover that. I did that on a prior Jeep and you couldn't even tell there was damage underneath.

I shot this photo to my Cousin. He does Paintless dent repair, and he pretty damn good at it. He said that is a $400-500 fix without touch up paint. If that's worth it to you, or if you have a high deductible, it may be worth looking into P/D repair.

Body work is not cheap. But also not ez. If it was me I would find a body shop. Looks like your tail gate is jammed up also
