Has anyone experienced this issue? On several off road excursions, I've noticed that, after clearing obstacles that required the BLD to activate, the brakes remain applied. It is such that, once back on level ground, you can take a foot off the accelerator and the jeep will immediately come to a stop. (Normally, it would travel at idle speed.) You can hear the "groaning" sound of brakes being applied at very slow speed, and the "grunches" of the ABS system working, and after a while you can even smell them getting hot. The only way I can get them to release is to take it back to 2wd, then back to 4lo.

I am thinking it should be a wheel speed sensor issue, perhaps, but no codes are thrown and my servicing dealer can't replicate the problem (as they aren't going to go wheeling with me). Any thoughts?

The only thing I know to try is disconnecting the battery(s) wait 10 min, reconnect to do a hard reboot on the computers. Might just be a weird glitch.

Have had something similar with my ‘21 JLR and my buddy’s ‘21 JLUR. Notice you also have a ‘21.

His is an ongoing wheel sensor issue (rear driver).

I think mine was a combination of an off center steering wheel and the off-road plus button. Rear driver was definitely grabbing. I don’t know about rear passenger.

Reviving an old thread... did anyone have a resolution for this? I have the same issue, albeit the RR hanging up. No DTCs have ever come through for a wheel speed sensor and it only happens in 4Lo. It'll even hang the brake when traveling straight and what should be extremely minimal differences in wheel speed from left to right. I cleaned off the wheel speed sensor a couple times and that didn't change anything. Of course the issue is intermittent and catching it in the act with data is going to be difficult.

I need to hook up my scanner and map wheel speed data to see if there's a mismatch... or maybe just throw a wheel speed sensor at it and hope a blind shot from the parts cannon fixes it.
