The Amor All and tire shine products look greasy, streak in the rain and collect dust. They will also break down the plastic over time and actually cause them to turn gray and get brittle.

The Cerakote works well on old, weather faded black trim, but it leaves a very glossy coat behind, and it can’t easily be removed.

I've been using 303 on mine for 6 years and all the exterior plastic looks new. Granted mine lives in the garage when not on the road. My guy is coming tomorrow to detail the inside/outside of both vehicles and I'll apply the 303 afterwards.

Well i can show you the before and after for the cerekote on 26 year old xj flares. Did these several months ago and still look great. Cerakote is more of a permanent coating not just a dressing that fades away. Only issue can be streaking if not prepped or applied according to directions but i found it quite easy.

That is Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating after using their Prep spray. Was super easy to do off the Jeep and didn't even need to buff.

I would tape of the paint if I did it on the Jeep, but wouldn't be hard. May want to ask whichever supplier you use if their prep spray (cleaner/wax/grease remover) is enough if they have previously been coated with anything greasy.

I did my full jeep and the wife car with it. Just washed the wife car after 6 months and the thing is almost as I left it prior to Canadian winter. Did not wash the jeep yet. Good stuff did you try other brand ?

People swear by the Cerakote wipes, but IMO they look too ‘wet’. I guess if you also like the look of tire shine then they compliment each other. Eye of the beholder.

Thank you for posting this video. I'm done with 303. I still have some chemical guy restore but I will now be buying cerakote.

I wonder if its safe to use cerakote on the hardtop?

I probably wouldn't. The hardtop is painted, with a black enamel. Maybe another ceramic coating like a ceramic "wax" (i use the turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray for the top) but i think cerakote is made for untreated plastic.

I was a 303 person for awhile but it wasn't as great as the hype imo. I moved to carpro perl which i still really like for tires and interior but then i tried cerakote and it was by far the best. For new plastic i would still use perl though, out of what i have tried in the past but there may be other great stuff out there.

I think 303 looks great initially. I noticed it just didn't last very long. I switched to chemical guy restore, it looks good, I noticed it definitely lasted longer than 303.
I never heard of carpro perl. I like the wet tire look. If I see it I'll definitely give it a try.

I treated my wiper cowl today with Forever Black because it looked to me to be the darkest & longest lasting without looking ‘wet’, based on O3D’s YT videos. This piece was the most sun-bleached of all the plastic trim.

The first coat looked very streaky, less with a second coat, but still some streaks remained. It looks black on application, but dark gray on drying. We’ll see how it holds up.

Before (2 weeks ago).

After 2 coats (today, later in the afternoon than the ‘before’ pic).

Detail of the most visible streaking.

For kicks I did the wiper arms even though they’re metal. It covered up the ‘clouding’ where they were faded.

The results are encouraging enough for me to continue onto the fenders and (non-functional) Rubi cowls.
