This is going to be a quick review and install of the Kuat 2.0 NV bike rack and Pivot 2.0. I order the bike rack a few weeks back and its a great rack for the Jeep. I really love the quality and craftsmanship in this rack. Trust me I have several racks, there is no other rack I like better. This rack once installed is tight, it locks into the receiver and does not have any wiggle or movement. With the bike installed on the Jeep without the swing arm, I was not able to open the rear tailgate. I would have to remove everything just to do this. So I ordered the Kuat 2.0 Pivot last week. I got it yesterday, and I installed it today.
Here is where things changed, I could not get the rear tailgate to open because the Pivot arm is raised about 3”. So you are planning to go this route please measure yours before you order. I am lucky, I and raise my spare tire mount on my rig. After doing a few measurements I only needed to raise my tire 1-1/2” up. Yes, that is going to block out more view in the rear view mirror. But with 37” tires on my Jeep, its already has little to no view right now.
Here is a view to show you how close my tire is to the top of the Pivot arm.
This is a view with the tailgate fully open and the Kuat rack at full pivot.
Well the install is very easy, if you do not have to relocate the rear tire mount the install will take maybe 10-15 minutes. Hope you can see from the install here how well this bike rack is made. I will leave the swing arm mounted on the Jeep and just store the bike rack off to the side when not in use.
