I've narrowed it down to these two tires but I can't decide on which 285-70-17 to get...anybody have insight on either they want to share?
I've had KOs multiple times including current. Had Duratracs a couple times. Duratracs seemed to do better on crushed road ice e.g. after the snow, after the plows hit a few times. But only a little bit better. KOs seem to have lasted a lot more miles, on the subjective side I prefer the KO look. Road noise, brand new all the way through 20+k the Duratracs always seemed noisier. I dont have a lot of experience yet with the KO3s we are getting there, they seem very similar to the KO2s overall performance so predicting they will be a lot like the 2s. If i was in the market comparing the two would probably walk out with another set of KOs.

OK so BFG does as good a job as Jeep on their site 🙄
I was on their site last week and they had the 37/12.50/17 which haven't been available until now. I would think the 285-70-17 would be ready if the 37s are.

Just looked- 285/70/17/C now shows available, and only 57 lbs- this is a good sign 😃,
but 37/12.50 still just F , oh well, money saved for a while longer.

What's the difference between F and C? I prefer the 12 ply myself.

Why? Are you carrying a massive amount of weight? Don't air down?
Just assumptions, that's all. I figured with them aired down to 12 psi and rubbing rocks they would be stronger with the side walls thicker. You think a higher ply wears worse?

They don't flex like a C or D does. That's by design.

F rated tires are typically designed for heavy duty trucks that need to carry / tow massive loads.

Ratbert mostly already answered but I will add weight and rotational mass. An E load is typically about 10% heavier than a C, F would be even more. I didn’t know of one that goes from C to F off the top of my head so I used C—E.
