I've narrowed it down to these two tires but I can't decide on which 285-70-17 to get...anybody have insight on either they want to share?

We have the KO3 on my wife’s Escalade in that size and I’m about to switch her to the Mickey Thompson Baja boss at. I have 255/85/17 on my wrangler and they’re amazing. So much quieter than the smaller KO3s. Hers weren’t bad when we first got them about 3500 miles ago and now they’re making a humming sound like an MT. The tire pressure is good. Mpg is good but they’re just acting funny. Today was also about 90 degrees and she was driving around more than usual. I drove it home from the store cause she was worried there was something wrong cause like I said they weren’t making this noise before. So we’ll see what happens with discount. Might get them true road forced tomorrow or Saturday, they did some kind of road force when we got them a couple months ago. But a few weeks ago they got the actual road force machine and they installed my MIckey Thompsons and road forced them with the new machine.

I have heard good things about the Baja Boss AT's...and they come in a SL or something less than an 'E' load rated tire in 285-70-17. I love the Duratrac RT's but they only come in an 'E' load rating for 285's. I really don't want to run an 'E' tire on this Jeep. The BFG's always seem to be a safe play...especially the new K03's in a 'C' rated tire...

According to the BFG site KO3 285/70/17/C is still listed as “coming in 2025” . Not in the currently available sizes.

OK so BFG does as good a job as Jeep on their site 🙄
IKR, he looked on his computer and said he didn't have them (he had 'E' tires) but could get them in 1-2 days...so who knows until they're actually on the Jeep 🤪

BFG shows only E currently available. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Hopefully he is correct.
I’m interested in the weight difference from KO2/C’s. … Maybe (likely) 37/12.50/C when available… “coming in 26”.

I bought the duratrac RT for my rubicon. I can't comment on their trail use, but as a street tire they've been a lot better than the KO2s my rubicon came with. Especially in wet weather lol. They also don't have that obnoxious rumble at 63-67mph that the KO2s had.

Admittedly, the bfgs always look cool with white letters.

Ride quality has been totally fine. Gas mileage seems ever so slightly worse. I can't really remember the ride quality being any different lol.

I have 74,000 miles on this set of 315/70r17 e rated KO2s (got 56,000 miles from the original 285/70r17s) and will be going to 37x12.50s KO3s in a couple weeks. The BFGs are quite a bit lighter than the same Mickey Baja Boss ATs.

I’ve owned 4WD vehicles since the ‘70’s. I put a set of Duratrac RT’s on last year. Best on/off road tire I’ve ever had. Quieter than stock Bridgestones, very nice ride for Losd Range E tires, good traction.

My E rated MT BB ATs are 64lbs 34.6” tall. They’re light and super quiet I run them at 29psi! They’re on my stock sport steel wheels. And it’s a manual and I haven’t had any issues with traction in rain. 2 days after I got them we had an atmospheric river and I was worried about traction but they gripped like the stock nexen HT tires

Not that it's significant, but their tread will be .5" narrower than that of a KO2.

When I was 35’s shopping late 23 the newer KO2 “T” Ford variant’s tread was .6” narrower than the older “S”, also 2 lbs heavier and slightly more expensive. A trend ?

Discount Tire does have them, and they are the Ford variant made for the Bronco Badlands, I believe. I’ve had them on my Jeep for the last 3,000 miles and so far they’ve been a noticeable upgrade over the K02, especially on wet roads. I also notice not as many rocks stuck in the tread if that matters to anyone. So far they ride great, and are pretty quiet.
