+1 on TeraFlex direct bolt on "no-drilling-required" hinge and tire carrier. Straight forward install, easy to remount camera and brake light. I have a KO2 37" with room to spare above the stock rear bumper.

Do the hinges on this Teraflex carrier need to be serviced?

Nothing stated in the instructions regarding periodic hinge maintenance. I imagine a little lube on occasion doesn't hurt though.

I went with the cavfab carrier as well after seeing headbarcodes thoughts on it. I like that it replaces the factory hinges, most of those that do not are still using the tailgate as a stressed member to hold the spare to the vehicle, which is the whole point of upgrading the stock one.

This pretty much narrowed my choices down to a few, and when comparing them the cavfab seemed to me to have the best design, super stout, and good hinge bushings that won’t wear out in a year like poly/urethane will

10/10 would buy again

Likely going to go the CAVFAB route as well. Is that the stock OEM backup camera housing? Does this mount use that or did you fab that somehow yourself? Nice wheels btw.

Another vote for the Teraflex hinge reinforcement and tire relocation bracket, just got back form a week of wheeling in Death Valley, lots of washboards no rattles very solid with a KM3 37" mounted on a Method 701 and two filled 2 gal Rotopax cans on a Rockslide tire mount

I have the Warn Elite bumper and tire carrier. It’s a big pain in the ass to install, which is saying something for a bumper, but the carrier is well-made, stout, and squeak and rattle free. It’s also got decent mounting options for extra fuel and a HiLift jack.

The gray Jeep is mine. The nicer yellow Jeep with the more expensive goodies belongs to my brother. :like:
