I ride mostly on desert sand. Most people around me use coopers and i will go for that.

However different people swesr by diff ones, at3 4s, lt, xlt... which do you think would do better in sand.. i am thinking the 4s would dig less..

Looking at all of he tread designs listed, the AT3 4S would be my choice.

@ahmadtaha1988 - It may also depend on what size tire you want to run. The 4s maxes out at P285/70/17 according to their website. The XLT's will go up to 37's and are a fantastic tire. I ran those on my last Jeep but I have no experience to share regarding running them in sand.

The Rugged Trek is another, newer Cooper Tire that looks like it may work well but again, maxes out at 285/70/17.

Last side note here, I know you're set on the Coopers, but you may want to give a look at the Kenda Klever R/T or AT2's. Both fantastic tires that are high quality and not nearly as expensive as the main names you're used to (Toyo/Cooper/BFG/Nitto etc.). I am running the AT2's on my Jeep now because the Coopers were so expensive. Saved me about $500.

Like @Jank4AU said, it would help to know what size you plan to run. Oversize tires are a big help in the sand.

I agree the 4S is best assuming they have your size. The thinner sidewall will help the tire spread out and float instead of digging in.

Here in the US desert often means a mix of sand and rocks. If that's the case then a thicker sidewall like on the XLT would help prevent getting flats.
