So today while installing a winch I took my first real look at the battery and to my surprise there wete three terminals for positive and two for negative. Made in the connection really easy. Is it ok to use any of three positive ones and either of the two negatives?

Use the Terminals that best fit your Winch Cable Lug openings.

From what I've learned on the forum Ryan @Gemball2018 , I'm with William @William Hays on this one.

Some of those cables from all the connection points you describe connect to the auxiliary and smaller /ESS battery that's hidden away below the Power Distribution Center/Controller (PDC) that's near the hood, close to the firewall on the passenger's side. It's my understanding that other than for initially cranking the rig, and ESS events, where these two batteries are isolated, at all other times they're connect in parallel so what positive and negative terminals you connect to off the main/large battery should be dictated by your convenience.

If you disconnect the leads to the main battery before installing your winch, which is unlikely, (say some weird winch installation instructions have you first connect to a deenergized source) thinking that doing so will deenergize the cables, you would be wrong, as they're still connected to the ESS battery.

Thanks a lot guys for the info. I went with the ones that were convenient due to the bends of the wires. Just got me wondering if there was a primary etc.
