Hi every body, I'm starting on camper through my country this summer and I have a question about the batteries. I want to know if the main battery looses its load using camping lamps or whatever from the trunk 12v port, if the car will turn on with the start and stop battery or I'll kill both of them.... Hope you can understand what I mean.... thank you in advance! :)

@eugeeezy is not only correct with respect to the draw from the outlet in the cargo plug draining both batteries, but that the Genesis Dual Battery System is a great way for off roaders to have more battery power, as well as isolate and monitor that battery power so that when it is time to crank the engine and head home, the crank succeeds.

But the kit is not cheap and requires the purchase of two new batteries.

There is though some "middle ground here" as it regards for example, rather than purchasing that kit, isolating the batteries while the vehicle is at rest, and running your gear off just one battery.

Ideally your equipment should run off the ESS battery, and an understanding of what goes on when the vehicle cranks is necessary to be able to temporarily disconnect or reroute battery cables to get home

It might be easier to buy a dedicated battery to run your camping appliances, or if permissible where you camp, run a generator or solar panels as alternative means to supply your power needs.

Thanks for the answers, I really appreciate it. Both are good ideas, I'll think how I do it.
