Small update on this: I have been keeping my gauge on the fuel economy view and have adjusted my shifting to follow in the best MPG options. I have been doing this for about a week and am up to 16 MPG now. I think if I keep an eye on the current MPG and keep trying to maximize my gears I can get it to 18ish.

I was rowing my gears too slow at take off and lingering in 4th too long. I didn't really think it was enough to make such a difference in my overall MPG.

I have noticed the same thing. Downside is no low-end torque bellow 2200rpm. I had a 2017 2door Jk prior and got 20% better millage with way more low end torque. My theory is the lighter flywheel reduced low-end torque enough thwt we now need to be at a higher RPM to do anything and thus causing worse fuel mileage. I haven't tested my theory yet and if anyone had any other ideas that would be great.

Different transmission with different gear ratios. The flywheel doesn't have anything to do with it.
