Hi All,

I have AEV Procal paired with my Rubicon JL. Just wondering is there a way to turn on the reverse camera while moving forward?. My Procal not supporting this function and what programmer has this function?

Also do I have to un-marry the pro cal aev to use new programmer if I have to go that path?

@hukaris

The Tazer JL Mini, has a feature that enables cam on when moving forward ....allows you to push a button and have the cam on, for as long as you like while moving forward.

Would make little sense and say, would just complicate things, keeping the ProCal in the picture if you install/marry a Tazer JL Mini.

Prudent thing to do, is to take ProCal out of the picture and use the Tazer JL Mini to do your programming needs.

The Tazer JL Mini will do what your ProCal did programming wise and a zillion other things..

Just sell your ProCal to help offset your Tazer JL Mini purchase.

By the way, ZAutomotive is one of our forum sponsor's.

Thanks so much for the valuable information. So you saying leave the harness connected to the OBDII? I don't want to mess up with pins,.

Will that cause issues if I leave harness connected?

@hukaris

Well, the ProCal Snap requires that the ProCal Snap harness is actually pinned into OBDll connector.. for you to release the pinned harness, you will need some skill and a special pick and of course, you could fruck up and damage things lets say..

So, with that said, if you no longer want to use the Procal Snap, you can just unplug the actual ProCal Snap from it's harness ,(the harness is a stand alone harness) that is pinned to the OBDll port connector and then just leave the harness tucked up under there.

The harness itself, with no ProCal Snap hooked to it, tucked up under there will cause no issues... you will forget it is there.... After this just go ahead and install your Tazer JL Mini.

About the ProCal Snap you will be will be removing/no longer using. Is is worth $ and can be sold here on the forum, on Craigslist, etc... You can list it for sale at a discounted price, without the harness and mention the buyer will have to buy the necessary harness in order to install the ProCal Snap from ProCal. The harness is sold/available from what I have read. The other option is for you to buy a replacement harness from ProCal and then sell that harness with your ProCal Snap...

Hope this post answers your questions....

Yes, just leave the ProCal Snap harness alone. Leave it right where it is... Just unplug the ProCal Snap from it.

Then, just leave the ProCal Snap harness tucked up up under there forever... It will hurt nothing.
It will just lie dormant there... it will do nothing but lie there doing nothing..

Yes, to use that ProCal Snap you removed, someone will have to acquire a ProCal Snap harness that may cost them $20+-.

@hukaris

Right now, none that I know of.. also no forum discount is given these days.

IF you are Active Military or a Veteran, email/text Joe, at ZAutomotive and more often then not, he will give you a 10-15% discount. Joe is very pro Military, pro, x Military.

Remember, when you eventually sell your JL, that you will be able to also sell the Tazer JL Mini, easily and recoop most of what you spent for it.

Not sure if you will be off roading, driving with top off, getting mud, horse chiitt and stuff on your feet... if so you might want to consider buying an inexpensive OBDll port cap/cover.

If you want such a cap, there will be a custom fit, OBDll cap/cover with a JL Grill on the front of it available here no later then Monday, I have been told. The cover can be had in black or red and is really nice.... functional for sure.... cause if you get crap up into the OBDll connector you will pay the price, lets say..

Anyway if interested watch here for the OBDll cover... the guy also has some other JL related goodies there too.
