Back up Cam Housing extension?

Has anyone fabricated or know where to buy an extended Back up Cam housing so you dont see your wheel in the view?

There are a couple of license plate relocation kits that move the camera. Haven't installed it yet, but I have the Teraflex one sitting in the garage.

Otherwise, I think I've just seen the extensions built into aftermarket carriers.

Yah i have the teraflex spare carrier it has its own camera housing but it seems to be same as stock one as far as distance from mount surface. I think Im going to cut the housing then extend and sleeve it with PVC pipe. Im doin my research and planning before i hack up somthing new lol

I removed the camera from the original housing, there is enough length in the cable when you reroute it more directly, you can 3D print an end cap to hold the camera, the main part of the extension is a piece of 1 1/4” diameter aluminum tubing sliced length wise so it slides onto the original body that the spare tire slides onto, secured with screws,and then I used heavy duty shrink wrap over the whole thing, and cut around the camera lens. Works awesome, even when sliding the spare tire on and off!

I use the Teraflex license plate / camera relocation bracket on a teraflex tire mount.

The field of view doesn't seem much different than what I remember seeing on my stock setup. I see the edges of the wheel in the camera view from about 3 to 9 o'clock. With my 12 1/2 tires wide tires on wheels with 3 1/2 backspacing. The red markers on the screen signify the outer edge of the tire which is what I recall on the stock setup.

Correction on the diameter of the aluminum tubing I used for the extension of the backup camera housing, it’s 2” diameter!

I needed up ditching the Teraflex mount and going with a Motobilt solution instead.
