It's not really that complicated, one of the 7 pin trailer connections is for trailer reverse lights, so you just tie a relay into that will line up power to the light(s). I'm not sure how well it would work or how it would affect the computer if you tried wiring them in directly.

How east would it be to steal the light once it is installed? Just unplug it?

There would be no plug at all, it would have to be spliced in. The lights still have to get bolted on, I don't think it's common to have cube lights get stolen off of your vehicle.
