relax, dude.
(i'll ignore your insults; you're clearly beyond rational here.)

i never mentioned ESS.
only questioning the extra effort you've been putting into something that doesn't seem to be a problem.

@zouch,

Yep, preventive maintenance. Something you obviously don't believe in. Am I searching or minimizing the potential of a problem that's been plaguing me for a long time? You bet.

I enjoy performing maintenance on my vehicles. It's part of the fun of owning them. Especially when I've discovered a way to keep something functioning properly due to really poor design. Am I professional mechanic? Nope, but I do what my skill and ability provides.

I need not defend my approach to ESS operation to you. I really do enjoy it overall but seriously hate it's implementation. So I've described my experience and the solutions I've invested in maintaining it for the possible benefit of those who may also be struggling with this as well.

You're so narrow sighted that it must just be me in search of a problem. Have you read the thousands of other ESS complaints in many dozens of ESS related threads within this forum? Of course not.

I'll keep responding to your trolls. How do you stand up to bullies? Is this what I'm needing to do here?

So yes, I'll continue to share my JL knowledge and experience with this fine community of JL people. You included. If you don't like my input, tune to another thread. Read about someone else's not so perceived ESS struggles. Do your own searching for trouble.

Regards,
Jay

Wow! That's thick.

Let me reiterate this to you (again). The original factory and Mopar replacement batteries have been the bane of nearly all of my battery (and ESS) issues. Since day one.

Not until I exchanged both batts with better AGM units have I really ever had a reliably functioning ESS. For you not to have read that, is remarkably non-observant.

I'll carry that irrational comment as a badge of honor (at least from you).

Thanks for [not] reading anything except what triggers you.

Sincere regards.

not interested in the argument with you you seem to be intent on inventing. you seem to be missing (or ignoring?) the points we agree on.

all due regards to you, mate.

you seem to be intent on having some 'Last Word'; it is yours.

also I think a voltage of 12.6 charged is right at the bottom of what would be called good, and can as noted have cell defects that as soon as a load is applied it falls on it's face.

I’m not so much a price guy. If it works well and keeps it reliable. My motto is stick with good brands that are proven. Could care less about paying 100-200 more for quality products. Don’t get me wrong, if it’s going to leave me broke and couldn’t do it I’d make other decisions but otherwise, not doing it.
I've been using Optima as all of my replacement batteries since '95. Every vehicle. Basement Kitty ('22) will get one in a couple of years. Last year I had a 1.5 year old one in my CRV fail and the local battery place replaced it under warranty. It's the only issue I've ever had with Optima and I like not having to worry about acid leaks and terminal corrosion.

That’s the way I always say, stay with the brand name proven products. Cause first the engineering & development, testing and when there’s an issue they stand behind any problems. What else do we want, piece of mind? You got it.

For all of you saying how bad the setup of the auxiliary for the ESS system 2nd battery is. I have something here to share with you. Here’s the auxiliary battery I replaced out of my 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Dated from 2019 production. The only reason I changed it out is because winter is coming and I don’t take chances after 4 years of use. I had no signs of battery issues at all. I changed it out because I always think of maintenance 1st over anything else. Here’s the results after removal from the test. A1 condition after few years use and 76k, can’t complain.?
right behind 'ya
'19 JLUR OEM Auxiliary Battery is finally on it's way out. Feb '24 will mark 5 years. no complaints or issues.
I did the aux battery bypass - pulled fuse 42, disconnected aux battery ground and taped it up
no more aux battery to worry about
I also replaced my main OEM 700 CCA with Diehard H7-AGM 850 CCA, 1000 CA
