The switches themselves are already wired. The wires that you connect to are located under the hood next to the battery. There is also wires under the dash below the glove box. Check your owners manual it will show you. They are really easy to connect to.I am curious if any of the 4 Aux switches are "prewired" to any particular locations, or if you use them do you have to go all the way back to the switches. TIA Cheers.
That's not the manual in the bag - more of a quick start guide. My manual is 619 pages long and my Uconnect manual is 218 pages long.Thank you all for the replies. And I'll read those 13 pages....if I can get the manual out of that bag
Actually, there are 6 in the passenger foot well. There are 4 in the engine compartment, near the battery.Yes, as noted, there are 4 wires running to the battery area and 4 under the glove box. Those match the 4 switches. To add an accessory, you simply connect to one of those and ground. Very simple. Then you can change the settings to the setup you want on the dash.
ALL 6, I mentioned are fused on the JL's end lets say.I'm still just getting into the info about this. One poster said per his reading of the manual that 2 are 15A and 2 are 40A. Question: do they run through a fuse or is that owner provided based on the accessory installed?
Absolutely correct and great info, thanks.ALL 6, I mentioned are fused on the JL's end lets say.
But, you can place you own fuse in line with a lesser amp fuse if you need protection at lower amp range. So you'd have the fuse on JL's end and the one you inserted inline with your accessory.
