I have my '24 Rubicon Aux Switch # 4 set to be constantly on or off with the switch for front running lights.
It stays on most of the time and stays on almost every time I start it. Occasionally I'll notice that it's not on.
I can simply turn it on again and it hold for a while but it's a bit annoying that it doesn't just stay on.
I do have a Tazer installed but did not use it for programming the aux switch, I used the dash interface.
Anyone else notice this?

I have my Aux 1 set for constant on and off with the ignition switch and occasionally I have to turn it back on. I use this circuit for my four two-way radios.

Interesting. At least I am not alone with the unique problem. Thanks for the feedback.

I have an AUX switch wired for my dash cam. I have the setting to be last state - always on, but sometimes it is off. At first I thought I was losing my mind, maybe accidently shutting it off... but it is not an easy button to toggle on accident so I am having the same issue. *sigh*

There's a safety trigger in the UConnect controller for the Aux switches that will reset them like a fuse if certain conditions occur. Assuming it's not being triggered by an electrical fault with how you wired the lights, it may be detecting a heat threshold met. There's some discussion on a Tech forum about Aux switches resetting in environments below the heat level that's being investigated whether it's software or a batch of bad sensors.

RatZero,

Do you have a link to that tech forum? I would like to follow. I'm also having the issue of AUX resetting to off. This newer UConnect is still a bit flaky it sounds like. I had the bluetooth issues when I first picked mine up late last year but seems to have been resolved with an update. Even the Tazer guys are having issues with it. They are working on a bug with the rearview cam shortcut thing (hit mute button 2x) which can cause the UConnect to lock up until vehicle is restarted. I don't even use my mute button in fear of locking up my UConnect!

It's an in-house discussion forum for repair/troubleshooting for manufacturing so I can't send you over there. Generally, if an issue with a nonmechanical system shows up it's brought up to brainstorm causes and resolutions.

Ok. No problem. Do you think this will be resolved at some point? I found another thread and this has been an issue on all JLs for some time it looks like. I'm using the old 3W type auto up window module (Chinese company still sells it) which works great. But I will just connect to ignition and forget the AUX altogether if this will go unresolved which looks to be the case going on 7 years. It may be fine for some that actually use it as a switch and don't need the recall, but this is literally and instance I need the recall to work all the time. I was just trying to avoid messing around with getting a wire through the firewall.

It comes down to number of cases reported vs. cost for a retroactive fix/recall honestly. In a roundabout way, they can tell, how many owners with the Aux board actually use it when data from dealer service is analyzed and It's supposedly under 15% according to what I've read. So, barely 2 out of 10 owners use their Aux switches which doesn't give them much incentive to retroactively fix it. But they're aware of the issue and it's on the list to be addressed. I have no idea whether it's software or hardware, each having different paths to solution.

I don't work at the Jeep plants, so I'm going by my understanding of the overall systems and what they discuss. I also have to be kinda vague, LoL. But, there is a large UConnect update in the works as I've mentioned in other threads and there could be some work in the Aux switch area in there.

I will probably wait until the next Uconnect update and if it's still resetting to off, through the firewall I go. It's too bad since it was very convenient. Didn't want to mess with peeling back that wheel well cover and fishing one stinking wire through but I need a reliable connection for power to the window module. Thanks for the info and if you hear anything new that you can post without getting into trouble, that would be great.

Just an update on this... My AUX has not switched to off state after the latest Uconnect update. It would reset to off every few days and hasn't in a couple of weeks now since the update. I think it's fixed!!!

Thanks for the update. Now that you mention it, it seems like mine has been staying on as well.

It turned off on it's own again...
Yeah, guess what. I just checked mine and it was off again. It seems like it should be that complicated to just keep it on

I never noticed this before but I wonder if this is what's causing the Aux Switches to shut off. They were off at this point but came on later.
I wonder if this can be corrected with the "AUX battery delete/bypass"?
