The EP doesn't carry over to the warranty but I'm a huge fan of the extended warranties in general. I also, while not expecting any issues with the JL, think any first adopters especially if they plan on keeping this Jeep for a long time, should invest in protection for themselves to make sure something doesn't need figured out.
I checked the price on-line for the extended warranties, do you know if there are discounts off of that price if I work with the dealer?

Thanks

@JLWF Dealer Guy I ordered the all weather mats and did not realize that they do not include the carpet mats, is my dealer able to get the carpet mats for me? What are the chances of making that happen?
I'm sure they would be happy to sell you a set of the carpet mats if you so choose to.

Ohh I know that!!! I wish that this would be more clear when ordering. Is this they way it was with the JK? No carpet mats? This is my first jeep in a vey long time, so not familiar with how they do the option of weather mats, every other company has always given both.

Yea, same thing. Order slush mats, that is what you get only.

Once you receive your membership, it will have a date on it. You have to be a member for 30 days. The affiliate program is a huge list of over 7000 companies (including Tread Lightly) in it. You simply have to show that you are a member and the dealer can use that when configuring your rebate sheet.
Clarification Dealer Guy: Does "affiliate" consideration need to be part of the initial pricing at factory order time, or would I have a reasonable chance of leveraging a larger discount at delivery? I have a 2% under invoice understanding with my dealer, but if affiliate considerations brings them a separate "rebate" from FCA, then maybe we have more to work with on their side?

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish and the dealership. There really isn't a clear answer. Some will additionally allow, some will not.

JLWF Dealer Guy,

Is it possible that you have access to true weight of a loaded JLUR? I know there was some info posted here a bit back, but I saw in another post that the shipping paperwork has the actual weight of the vehicle and I'm wondering if you have access to that or anything online that is more accurate. I ordered pretty loaded and dual tops and the weight would include the soft top that is shipped inside the vehicle.

I'm going to ask my dealer to save that paperwork for my Jeep so i can keep with it. I'm flat towing and I'd like to know what I'm starting at so I can see how reasonable to stay under 5k lbs as I'm going to quickly add sliders (likely ACE), winch, tow bar baseplate (might have to weld something up IF I don't wait for RoadMaster to sell theirs), and maybe some more skid plates IF there are other vulnerable spots under. I'm trying to stick with 33's till they wear out then look at options / lift if needed. In the interim I have a feeling I'll have a few scratches on the underbelly ;).

Any help would be great.

Thanks as always, you and Jay have been great. If this is posted elsewhere let me know - the "shipping slip" I saw was for a sport and listed at

Here is what I have, this does not include the soft top in the dual top option. You are going to be hard pressed to keep it under 5000 lbs with a curb weight of 4453. Curb weight = all STANDARD items, along with all fluids. I assume if you add in all the features that are order-able on a Rubicon, bumpers, extra electronics, whatever, it's going to be over 5000 immediately. at delivery. Those bumpers alone are going to put it over. Thats before you shove anything in it.
  • Curb weight: 2,020kg (4,453lbs) and GVWR: 2,631kg (5,800lbs)

OK, thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to have to push it a bit then - still be OK, just need to make sure my supplemtary braking system comes on fast to pull the weight off - way more concerned about panic stopping then time to get up to speed!

I better get to my dealer to save the sheet, I'm fairly certain that hit's the trash with all the clean up they do.

Good evening @JLWF Dealer Guy. I’m interested in purchasing the MaxCare warranty. How long do I have from time of purchase of my JLUR to purchase the warranty? I’m looking just to purchase it outright, rather than finance.
