Are the JL rubicon diff covers the same?

I am potting my sensors and have removed both diff covers. After placing them side by side, they appear to be the same.

What is the difference between the front and rear cover?

I am 99% sure I know which way I took them off, but after all the comparison of the two, I *might* have swapped them.

They are not the same. They look the same but the front is a bit smaller and the bolt patterns will not line up if you have them reversed.

Good -- so it is not possible to mix them up. One less thing to worry about.
