I just noticed my local dealership has a 2019 Cherokee ... yet I'm still waiting -- like many of us -- on my 2018 JL. Hopefully it arrives before any 2020 Jeeps come out, otherwise it will be really awkward. And let's just hope we don't see any 2019 JLs anytime soon.

SCIENCE!
Here's the thing: though, the JL Wrangler, by and large, works (some tragic outliers aside). It's a first year model, and everything we've seen suggests they're having a plethora of issues with production. Would you rather see vehicles delivered on time and riddled with problems? Or late and reliable?

I mean, on time and reliable is obviously out, this is FCA we're talking about here... :like:

I’ll take you one further. Is it because it’s a new model OR is it because they decided to continue producing the JK thereby causing issues with their suppliers which were tasked with manufacturing parts for both platforms?

FCA has been having similar issues with the 2019 Ram 1500 (Gen 5) which presumably is why they’ve decided to continue production of the Gen 4 Ram through the end of the year.

If some of the production issues were indeed related to FCA producing both the JK & JL, hopefully now that JK production has ended their suppliers can retool and focus exclusively on producing parts for the JL.

They probably should have called JL a 2019 too, and Jk 2018. Both the same year will lead to aftermarket parts fitment issues.
Dude...thats a killer truck.

I am a fan of rat rods and old trucks with some "experience" to them. In a couple of years I want to start a 1957-59 GMC pickup project. I like the patina on your truck.

I agree i dont think they should have made 2018 JKs and 2018 JLs The JLs should have been 2019. Lots of company's are coming out with their 2019 right now

Anyone have any idea if this is a normal time for an order? My order for a 2018 Rubicon 2 dr in Punkn' with the tan leather and Tan Premium Soft Top went in on April 11th and has been sitting, according to my sales rep, in a C status ever since. He says C means scheduled but no build date. I originally gave my sales rep my Jeep configuration way back in February but first the Punkn' color was not available and then the Tan Premium Soft Top was not available. Finally in April both were available and the order went in.
It is getting frustrating having to wait with no updates. Not a good experience so far.

Like I predicted, having both jk and JL as a 2018 is causing issues with Jeep. They sent me the hard copy of an owners manual for a jk, when I specified JL and gave them my vin.
