Is the snow all gone on 3N17 and all surrounding trails? Imagine it got pretty warm up there this past week.

You did White Mountain as well or exited near there?
Did white mountain. snow in BB, not on the trails.

awesome. I’ll have to run white mountain soon - last time I was up there it was way too snowy to run some of the off camber stuff.
Nice, adding this one to my list as well. Snow line was around 7,500' last weekend on the crest and it's melting fast. I wouldn't expect much aside from 9'k+ north faces after mid May

I just drove by the mountain meadow/snow play area in Mount Laguna California. The forest service placed signs up where you park that said Emergency Closure, all vehicles parked will be ticketed and towed. The trail head for the Big Laguna trail was blocked and signed area closed to public use.

Last time I was there, there were no tire tracks on the snow... tried a couple ways up, spinning all 4 tires.. had to turn back and stop at the campground and play.

Some roads in the Cleveland national forest have opened. For more information go to the Cleveland national forest website and search road closures.

This is not even close to a jeep trail, but it's sure nice that Pine Creek road is finally open. All old side roads were long ago closed. A lot of people parking on every place they could. Beautiful day, I am really happy folk are out enjoying the forest.

To bad this got paved a few years ago.

Up on Drinkwater soaking in the outdoors at the moment. This place is quickly becoming my regular close to home run.

Also am seeing a bunch of vehicles across the canyon/other side of the road on the ridge. Gaia shows it as 5n30 and 5n17 towards castaic lake. Will have to explore those routes soon too.

Took a really short ride today up here in the Laguna Mountains. I am having no luck posting my icon for some reason. Anyway a short ride is better than none.

A little further out, but does anyone know the status of any 395 wheeling spots? Looking at Monache or Cerro Gordo for the upcoming holiday weekend. Hopefully the snow line will comply with any reopenings

As far as I can see, BLM lands are open. I have never been to Cerro Gordo area. Years ago I would take my quad up 395 into Nevada and explore old mines and jeep trails. Especially around Mina. Getting older now. I have always wanted to explore the eastern side of the Sierra. Down my way starting to get warm. Please post pictures when you go. Be safe and enjoy.

My understanding is that Cleghorn is open as is someplace called Gold Mountain?

Also known as 3N69, the Gold Mountain Trail heads up from Big Pine Flat Trail to the peak of Gold Mountain. This trail is rated "Most Difficult" by the Forest Service, and should only be attempted in high-clearance vehicles. There are several challenging rock gardens towards the top of the mountain. Part of the trail has a bypass known as 3N69A that is more difficult.

This trail is in the Big Bear area of the San Bernardino National Forest. It starts off of highway 18 on the east end of Big Bear Lake Google Map, and meets up with the Big Pine Flat Trail (3N16) Google Map near Holcomb Valley.

If you’ve got bigger than stock tires in or are a stock rubicon you can likely do gold mountain, but it’s a pretty challenging one.

There’s tons of great trails in that area - you can take cleghorn from I15 and then at the end hop right into Pilot Rock OHV which terminates near lake arrowhead. Hop into Holcomb Valley Road (9 mile drive between these two) from there and you can run White Mountain, The Squeeze, Gold Mountain, John Bull, Holcomb creek, etc. don’t do the last three unless you’re very experienced. All of these branch off of Holcomb valley road.

Beyond the eastern end of Holcomb Valley Road you can jump right into 2N02 which takes you all the way out to Pioneertown. Couple trails along the way like Tip Top Mountain.

I do the whole cleghorn/pilot rock/Holcomb valley road/2N02 pioneertown route often. You’re basically traversing the whole length of the forest on trails, save for the 9 miles between Pilot and Holcomb.
