Curious if anyone switched to 35s from the stock Rubi tires and did not reprogram speedo? And if so any issues? I don’t drive mine daily and only put a few hundred miles on a month so didn’t know if I should fool with it. Thanks

welcome to the new times, one changes wheels and needs a college degree to reprogram the vehicle , just step on it and see what it does

Right! Well I reprogrammed using SC flashcal and it’s a breeze but it changed a few other settings automatically I didn’t like. I don’t think that’s normal. Plus I could never get it 100% accurate always like 1 mph off so my logic is to reset it to factory setting and deal with it 2-3 mph off and not worry about it. Not too worried about gas mileage. Still getting 15+ with 35s. Just didn’t want it to cause long term damage to transmission if shifts are off.

The speedometer only affects the odometer. Trans shift points are automatically learned, your speed will just be off by a tiny fraction.

Ok. I’ve heard this before about learning the shift points. Appreciate the input.

I used the Tazer to reprogram the tire size twice. First was going from factory 285's to 315's. Second was going from 315's to 38x13.50's. On both occasions, I had to drive some miles before getting back to my tablet with the Tazer instructions. The shift points were way off, and not an ounce of improvement after some decent mileage.

Just like anything else capable of learning, it needs correct information in order to learn properly. The ZF auto is a learning unit. It adjusts itself to the driving habits of the person behind the wheel, but requires accurate information to properly implement those changes. The Tazer can also reprogram changes to final drive gear ratios and transfer case ratios. It's because the transmission can only perform as accurately as the information given to it.
