I just got done working on building my shed and hopped in my jeep forgetting that I had a bunch of screws in my back pocket. When I jumped in, they all stabbed me of course so I kind of slid real quick and ripped some of the cloth with the screws. it’s not all the way through, but it did rip a few threads and I’m wondering if anyone knows a good fix so it doesn’t get worse? Maybe there’s like a special type of glue or something. Any thoughts? Other then your an idiot.

Retired and loving it!
The TV commercials claim this works on all fabrics.

Amazon also has it. Good luck.

Hate it when that happens! I poked a hole sitting in a leather seat one time when I forgot to take the needle nosed pliers out of my back pocket.

I don't think Billy Mays will be of much help. That product sounds like an extra expensive version of Shoe Goo, which is very durable stuff but would just make a lumpy mess of the seat.

If it were me, I'd probably just live with it. You might try applying very tiny droplets of super glue down in the damaged area with the tip of a pin, or something that will only apply the glue just in the damaged thread area. That should at least keep the threads from unraveling but will still be noticeable!

Yeah, I’m not too worried about how it will look. I’m just more concerned with overtime. The threads will keep unraveling more and more causing a big hole to form. I am trying to prevent that. A friend suggested buying high and seat covers but they are like $300-$500.

Yeah. I think I'd maybe invest in an inexpensive seat cover. Especially if you think there's a chance it might happen again.

If not worried about looks, I'd give super glue a try. It will wick out into surrounding threads if you try applying right out of the tube/bottle, so just try dabbing a little at a time with pin point.

Seat covers is how I "fixed" my torn leather seat in my old BMW. I just added Smittybilt neoprene seats in my JL, and I think the front and back complete set was around $180 on Prime Day from Extreme Terrain. They now show the price at $200, but that may have a veteran's discount built in, but take a look at the link. Otherwise, Smittybilt shows the set at $208. They look pretty nice but only time will tell how long they last.

Some customers have complained these neoprene covers are hot, but compared to my Rubicon black leather seats, they are cooler!
