Anyone dealt with a p2172 limp mode problem?

While doing a passing maneuver on the highway, the entire car cut out into limp mode with service electric throttle on the screen.
Check engine, traction light and red charge light all illuminated. After restart limp mode goes away, check engine light remains. The Jeep drives normal. After 3 drive cycles the check engine self resets.

It happened again 50-60 miles later, same results. On the highway passing and cut out. Restart, out of limp mode, 3 drive cycles check engine gone.

150 miles later, it happened around town. The freeze frame data I attached is for the third incident.

After the incident some leaking oil was spotted again.

Dealer called. Warped intake manifold. Part back ordered until July.. also the valve cover gasket is shot.

what the hell did the PO do to this thing? Did I remember correctly in reading that the 2.0s overheat off-road sometimes?

Update.. dealer did intake manifold, new valve cover, oil seperator tsb, water pump bolt tsb, spark plugs, oil change.

car ran good for a little bit and I’ve been battling issues since June.

first a P1cea code. Then a p061a code. The p061a is a level 2 torque code which induces limp mode which goes away after a restart.

a couple weeks ago they did the airbox lid (not under warranty) to address what They diagnosed as a broken Venturi valve (this code is really only seen in aftermarket intakes that didn’t mimic the factory line).

limp mode again before leaving the lot for p061a. So they ordered a PCM.

500 or so miles the P1cea came back..

New pcm in, 300 miles later; constant limp mode. Comes on almost instantly.
