Hi all!

I didn't want to spend too much money so I recently had my mechanic change out my halogen bulbs for LED bulbs. I did research prior and it appears that if I purchased the kind below, the LEDs would be able to work in a halogen housing. Apparently it doesn't. The beam is still scattered and pointed straight ahead causing blindness to those who dare stare. I'm frustrated because the original halogen bulbs are gone (he asked me if I wanted them and I said no), and now I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do next. I've already tried to adjust the beam down but it doesn't move up or down. Very frustrating. Anyway, I've already ordered OEM halogen replacement bulbs to use in case there isn't any fix available that you guys can share. I'm aware that I can just purchase a new LED headlight and housing but that's too expensive. Could it be that the bulbs are upside down or something silly like that? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OEM LED's are great. Oracle LED replacement housings are great too. Please do this correctly, every other motorists around you will appreciate it. Usable light gives you better vision as the driver and less glare for oncoming traffic also.

Three possibilities:
1. You're using LED bulbs with poorly designed wick positions that scatter when they're mounted in the reflector
2. You've mounted them backwards or, the correct way to mount them I post a picture.
3. you need to adjust the height of the headlight assembly after installation to aim the headlight

That's great. Thank you. I'll go tomorrow and check if it was installed properly. also, you mention adjusting the height of the headlight assembly. What exactly do you mean? Screwing the top screws less?

There are bolts inside the headlight assembly to adjust the height of the headlight assembly, you can check this tomorrow in the meantime (or ask that mechanic)
Perhaps this video will give you a clearer idea of this. I hope it can help you!

I upgraded our 2021 JL Sport to Led bulb replacements. No problems . Be sure the LED emitters are pointed at 3 and 9 o'clock. Led fog lights took some time to swap. Variety of plastic bits for fog bulb access. The headlights were easy.

Have driven rental JLs with factory Led headlights. I thought factory Led was terrible. Would not spend the money for factory Led.

Success (I think). We reinstalled the bulbs which were originally installed the wrong way and lowered the beam using the adjustment screw hole. It isn't dark yet but in his garage we set it up and it looks like it works as discussed. Yay!
