ok I'm not crazy then. To me that would have been perfect starting place if they'd done that on the 23 willys. I don't really care much having a electronic swaybar disco, and would loved to have had the tan cloth interior. I would have missed the 4:1 transfer case, and that was a huge huge reason I went with the rubicon.
With an automatic, the 2.72 vs 4:1 ratio isn't that big of a deal.. On a manual, it's a little more important.

4.10s vs 3.45s makes it much more user friendly once you put a tire on there..

? I stand corrected. That makes this question a lot more interesting.
It really is a great option now if you don't want all the standard equipment the Rubicon comes with.
Or you hate red stitching...

Only the Rubi will have the full float with the increased tow capacity, correct?
I think all Rubis and XRs (including the Willys) will have the floater. Looking at the way they did it, not sure there is much advantage other than the higher rated capacity.

Only get the Rubicon if you plan to HARD-CORE offroad. If you're a pavement princess, Willy's is a better choice. If you're going to do mild offroading, Willy's is a better choice. You have to offroad HARD to realize the benefits of a Rubicon.
Which is why I have the Rubi. This summer's gonna be wild.

Ya, I'm a big fan of the 4:1 with the manual.

I have not seen anywhere that the Willys with AGB package (35") will have the full float rear axle (and the Rubi already comes with the floater, so it doesn't need to be in the package. )
I can't swear to this, just, as said, have not seen it anywhere.

Yeah, makes perfect sense for Jeep to have 2 different axles (reg and floater) M210/M220 with 4.10s and 2 (reg and floater) with 4.56s.

on a build sheet, the full floater is called out for the Rubicon, and isn't called out for the 35" Willys.

So I'd say you are right.

Do new Willy’s come with Mud Terrains or All Terrains? I think for 2024 you can choose but before it was MTs only for the Willy’s and they weren’t as desirable to me as the ATs on the Rubicon.
BFG KO2 285/70r17 - same as the Rubicon

Rubicon. I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Who cares what anyone in the internet says though, it’s your money, spend it how you see fit.

My wife’s 18 JLU is ready for a trade in. She’s at 41k miles so hopefully we get a decent value for it. Up until 24 I was sold on Rubicon all the way as the next purchase. Now with the 24 MY upgrades, I would take nothing but a Willys. Haven’t needed a swell transfer case or a nifty front axle disconnect or gnarly front lockers for the last 6 years on the trails, so why do I need them now ?‍♂

If you are itching to get a new Wrangler and you will not be doing much of any off-roading why not get another Sport S?
I did consider doing just that. But the Willy's is ~$1k more and gets the rear locker, 4.10 axle ratio for more "umph" off the line, has the different grey looking interior and sits 1" higher than a Sport for that "just enough lift" look that I've wanted since getting our Sport. This thread has been VERY informative and pushed me even more towards getting the Willy's!

If anyone has one in Hydro Blue, would love to see a picture as that's the color I'm leaning towards. We currently have an Ocean Blue Metallic and have a love/hate relationship with the color. When the blue of the color pops it looks awesome. However, on the days when it looks purple I'm like "WTF!?"
