Pulling my hair out with this one. '23 JLRU and using USBC to connect.

By saying hey Google or tapping the Google Assistant microphone icon on the head unit, and saying to text a contact it still asks me which contact I mean, and lists 2 additional contacts I've deleted from my phone (instead of just sending the message to the only contact in the phone that matches).

Anyone run into this issue?

I haven't experienced this but you may try looking at your Google contacts from the web page. The old ones may still be listed on your Google profile even though they've been removed from your phone.

@cyked

Does this happen with every contact you ask to text.... or for say a specific one or two contacts?

By the way, what you are seeing is undoubtedly not a UConnect hiccup but rather a Google related hiccup..

I agree this is unlikely a "uconnect" issue.

The issue is I have three people named Steve in my contacts. So say Steve, Steve Smith, Steve Jones. And if I would say hey Google send a text message to steve, it would understandably ask me which Steve I mean (android auto or not).

I've deleted Steve Smith and Steve Jones from my phone contacts. If I connect my phone and on the uconnect head unit go through the menu options to look at my contacts they don't show up there, or anywhere I look. But now when I say hey Google send a text to Steve it still asks me about Steve Smith and Steve Jones even when they no longer exist.

I have a OnePlus phone, and not ruling out that being the issue.

@Rhinebeck01. To answer your other question... No this does not happen with other contacts. I do have contacts in my phone where there's only one match and it doesn't ask me which contact I mean.

Home finally and not just mucking around with things on phone only. Something is messed up with sync like @T.Pigott said. Phone is AFU at this point. Went through and uninstall Fi, removed google accounts, re-added everything and mucked around with "work" profiles and finally got Google Fi to register and finishing activation (after reinstalling multiple times and pulling SIM card) and after that contact sync started working. Multiple sync items (like calendar and other backup functions) were not working and hadn't synced for weeks.

Do you have Battery Saver on? That will disable Sync.

TL:DR: after f*cking around with things for a few hours last night it finally synced contacts (and everything else) and the deleted contacts are no longer on the phone nor in the cloud when looking into google on computer and looking at contacts.

I ordered a pixel 7 pro last night. I've been holding off on replacing my oneplus 7t because largely I haven't been having issue until the past month or so. But since I'm still on android 12 and 13 came out back in Sept might as well move on and not continue the headaches with oxygen OS.

I spent about 2 hours last night doing everything short of a full factory reset, which broke google fi from finishing activation on the phone after reinstalling fi and re-adding my google account. Finally got that worked out with google support. This morning, nothing work related worked at all. The 2FA app for VPN was AFU and took 30 minutes with the help desk to sort out. I still can't use teams/outlook on phone. Tells me when logging in company policy requires MS company portal app to function. Support tells me that isn't correct, but it works fine if I install company portal. I suspect the L2/L3 support team will tell me it's needed for android, but not iOS.
