If any one is looking to install an amp and sub in their 2 door, I just had this Kicker down firing setup installed and I’m VERY happy!
I knew I was going to have a hard time finding something that wouldn’t take up a lot of room (because I don’t have any to begin with), so I went to my local audio shop and he had these on the floor. I took one out to the Jeep and it was a perfect fit! I had it installed today and it’s exactly what I wanted!

@Leblancchris This looks interesting given the small footprint and the much more affordable price then factory alpine.

So this can be added to the stock speaker system? Where is the amp installed, underneath the cargo door? And how much did you end up paying for installation including the necessary wires/harness etc.

Yes, it was added to the stock stereo. I have the stock 5” unit. The amp is installed under the cargo area
I am in Canada, so it may be different for some, but I paid $150 for install and $100 for the wiring, on top of the amp and sub cost.
I HIGHLY recommend this setup! Sounds amazing!

I'm just spitballing here but could you move it to the side and rodate it 90 degrees. Then you'd have a way to still fold down the rear seat and put in cargo (i.e. groceries).

Not quite sure what you mean, but I can fold the seat down as is, and I can put groceries right on top
The first pic is how it sits. The second is just showing what the bottom looks like.

I guess I'd have to see it with the seat folded up.

I have the down firing Kicker as well, 8” version. It’s perfect for me. Being able to load/ stack items on the box is definitely a benefit in a 2 door.

@Blue 179 @Leblancchris Since you both have the sub installed, did you guys think of ways to make them harder to steal quickly? Any way to bolt them or tied them down etc.? This is only to prevent quick break ins, on longer ones they can steal whatever they want no matter how secured your belongings are.

Mine is screwed down using small angle brackets. However if someone really wants it they can get it.

I don’t have mine bolted down, because when I want to flip the seat down, I want to be able to move it.
I can’t see myself going too far from my jeep when my top is off anyway.
