Alpine premium

I have a JL Rubicon loaded with alpine upgrade infotainment option. I am not that impressed. Bluetooth really does not seem that loud. SiriusXM is not great either. With the top off I can’t imagine being able to hear it. Don’t know if anyone has suggestions maybe I’m going deaf. Crutchfield has said they have not looked at the JL model yet. Thoughts? Otherwise love the Jeep worlds better than my old JK.

Check your bluetooth volume settings, set it reasonable on your device, then adjust the levels in the jeep. Did someone mention there were bluetooth/input volume settings somewhere?

It should be "loud enough" from my short test drive with the JL alpine systems trying to channel surf without an antenna.

I don’t have my JL, yet, but I’ll bet this is the issue. In my Yukon, BT input volume is actually controlled on my iPhone. Gotta max the volume on phone to get even halfway decent volume from the stereo. I’ve trained myself to just plug in with a cable and use CarPlay. 100x better sound (and much louder).

Sirius is siriusly compressed (see what I did there? Huh? Huh?) The quality is never going to be very good for music.

OldGuyNewJeep please don't get me going on horrible streaming iAudio and Bluetooth compressed garbage audio! It's bad enough when the HD channels compress the music to garbage so they can fit in sub channels...

I hear you can buy premium music these days that is basically *gasp* CD quality!

Like others have suggested, check the volume on your phone. Mine is often turned down and I will need to adjust it. The audio settings also provide an aux. volume adjustment you can look into.

Personally, I've very impressed with the sound for a factory system. This stereo gets LOUD and will rattle tools on my bench in the garage. Where I'm really hurting is totally lack of EQ, but I'll be fixing that later on.

EQu is a great app for the iPhone that lets you really utilize an EQ for your music. I've been using it in my VW GTI since the EQ is so bad in the stereo.

When I have Bluetooth headphones on, I just use the volume buttons on my iPhone to increase or lower the volume. So when its active on Bluetooth, try the volume buttons first. Then the Jeep has its own volume. The iPhone can't control the physical volume of the Jeep.

True (I have Power amp /paid version on Android) but I don't stream music often from phone.

The bluetooth volume is only affected by your phone's settings. The audio settings on the Jeep have an aux. volume offset setting that can be used.

Take a look at the audio settings on your phone. I know for a fact that iPhone's with sound check turned on and volume limit settings will lower the volume over bluetooth. Android phones have the same type of settings.

There shouldn’t be any volume problems with this stereo it’s loud and it is really solid... totally clear and loud with the top off as well... as mentioned on here something is up with your volume/input levels
