As the alpine sub uses 4 coils / pairs of wires I was wondering if you could create 2 bridged pairs? probably not ideal but i got curious :)

You can’t bridge the amp but you can rewire the sub to show a 2 ohm load. You look at it like a pair of 2 ohm DVC subs. I am feeding it with a Quart 400.1 that I added to my Stage 6 install. The factory amp is very picked with impedance. I tried to run an Infinity component system in the sound bar and the amp did not like the different resistance and shut the entire sound bar down until I reinstalled the OEM speakers.

Jeep Wrangler JL is the alpine premium amp bridgeable? 0757476D-4B08-493E-89DC-57A1DA227E1E
Each of the coils is a 2 ohm load. Solder 2 of the adjacent terminals and then take the opposite terminals and connect them. The two lines to the left are connected to the 400.1 amp. I have been running that since June when I installed the Stage 6. The amp hasn’t killed it yet. Hope that helps.

Is it worth doing that vs just replacing the sub while you are already in there?

Until the quart sub is released, there were very few options for a replacement sub. The enclosure is small (0.35 cu ft). The only sub that would fit with no mods is the JL 10-tw3 but the minimum recommended enclosure is 0.55. The Kicker 48cwrt102 and 104 bolt circle is too small. Also the JL 10-tw1 would work in that space but it’s too deep and the bolr circle is too small as well. The BRP adapter does make those two more feasible since BRP narrowed the diameter but I am going to wait for the Quart for ease of installation and they also give you the amp settings as well.
