After having my JLUR for a few weeks, I wanted to share a short "review" of the sound system and what you might expect when getting yours.
First off, this system is one of the best stock stereos I have heard. Recently coming out of a 2015 Challenger, I can assure you this system is 100 times better and it is loud enough at 552 watts (12 channels) to give you an abundance of volume even at 85 mph and no top.
Unfortunately, that very nice sounding, loud system has a drawback that you may have to deal with, sooner rather than later, because, while Jeep did not skimp on the electronic components, they saved a few bucks and failed on preventing excessive vibration, most especially in the soundbar. Mine, for example, has developed a horrendous death rattle even at very subtle volumes when certain frequencies are played or distortion is present (Sirius low quality source).
To maintain the good sound, you may want to be prepared to pull out the soundbar and dampen it. I have not pulled mine off just yet, but I'm convinced the speaker wire is the culprit and will need to be tamed. It only took about two weeks for it to work loose it seems.
In summary, the sound quality (when using high quality source files) and volume are well above standard from what most would expect, but don't be surprised if you need to spend some cash and time on chasing down rattles and dampening them. For most Jeep owners, I don't expect that to be an issue and there are a couple nice videos on Youtube on how to get this done fairly easy.
