I just got the Jeep back today, it was also there for the 95B 4xe recall so they had it for an extra day until they confirmed the battery checked out

I've got plans the rest of the weekend, but I will dig into it Monday since it's a day off work. It may not actually be algae, it may be something else. I doubt the tech at my rural Georgia Jeep dealer is a biologist on the side.

I actually do think I put in the RainX stuff someone mentioned above, I honestly don't remember though because it's been clogged so long and I've just been putting off doing anything about it

The tips everyone provided were great, I am pretty handy, dad was a mechanic so I'm not inept here, but since it was under warranty I was going to have Jeep do it.
Hmm, explain how Non-OEM , and non-dealership added washer fluid is covered under warranty?

Your first post made mention that the dealership wanted to charge $400 to flush it, which implied it wasn't under warranty.

You must have a hell of an extended warranty.
So, if you accidentally put diesel or bad gas in your gas tank, will it be covered under the extended warranty?

People have complained about rain-x bug remover causing clogs. I use the cheapest blue stuff from Walmart and Home Depot and have never had an issue. Krystal Kleer
Oh shit. It’s so cheap at Costco so I buy it by the 2 pack there for like $6. You mean the orange kind?

Not sure on the color. Just remembering some previous threads with no first hand experience

Iirc, the orange Rain-X denotes bug cleaning and sub-freezing temperature rated. That is the stuff that can be problematic. Was told by another member here (@Heimkehr I think) that the green Rain-X stuff just for bugs, but not freeze-rated is fine.

Was also told that the biggest problem with their orange fluid is if you mix it with other types of washer fluids (@Rhinebeck01 I think). I've been using only their orange stuff (fresh, unmixed) for 2 years straight and it's mostly fine if you go through it fairly often (2-3+ jugs per year). If not, it will eventually separate with a layer of sediment that falls to the bottom. I have a nearly decade-old jug that did this. Also, be sure to use your rear wiper regularly to keep that stuff from sitting around too long in that line.

After experiencing a couple "dry" sprays recently, I'll be switching back to the regular freeze-rated blue stuff after I finish the 2 jugs I just bought.

Only buy the cheap blue methanol loaded shit sold at the corner quicky mart or Lowes if your fancy. Otherwise, apparently deal with the issues posted above 😉👊🏼🍻

Yep. I use the green Bug Remover formula late Spring through early Autumn, to good effect. Rated to 32F.

When the mercury drops, I'll usually pivot to the purple RainX De-Icer formula.

From experience, the generic blue washer fluid may or will frost on the glass during the coldest days, thus betraying its alleged -20F rating. The RainX purple fluid claims a -30F rating, and it's always performed well.

This isn't a speculative matter for me. I've as much if not more seat time in the white stuff as others have on the trails. :)

Good to know. I started it in the reservoir when empty so hopefully I’ll be ok. I have WPF so I use the fluid every time the wipers are on. Have 3 more jugs left Thanks!

The orange Rain-X I've been using was rated at -20°F and don't recall ever seeing it frost the windshield since I've been using it. The newest jugs are now rated -25°F.

And yes, I've seen the freeze-rated blue stuff frost up many times. Though the worst was when I accidently bought a jug from the gas station and after filling it up in the dead of winter noticed that it said 32°F or something similar, thinking it was -32°F. Locally, shops usually don't stock any blue "summertime" washer fluid even in the summer, let alone carry it during the middle of winter (was actually being stocked outside iirc, just not cold enough to be slushy/frozen). Live and learn!

It's just Urban Dictionary, the go-to site for "creative" definitions.
Yeah, I think that's just text. But then you accidentally stumble upon Uncyclopedia, Know Your Meme, Encyclopedia Dramatica, etc, which are little more.. "detailed" and/or intentionally offensive. Not that that's a bad thing or anything, but I'm running low on eye bleach these days 😉
