The Ginger from Epic off road posted a very comprehensive video today on You Tube about installing a AEV lift on his 2 door JL that previously had a Full Metal CLoak system. He even went into the AEV front steering option with high clearance and steel knuckles. ONe of the best install videos I have seen.

There is only one reason why someone goes from full Metalcloak to AEV...

I chose AEV (standard springs, 5100 shocks) because I have to drive 3.5hrs on the highway just to get to anything resembling a fun off-road adventure, and more like 8-12 hours for really good stuff. But once I'm there, it can perform like most anything else.

Luckily, the $2000 high steering kit was not a need for me. ...still, seeing that clearance on the Ginger's 2 door...

His voice sounded a little shill I mean shrill there.

i like the dude he’s pretty funny. But 2 dudes and a wrench is all about him asking the other dude‘s (Paul) opinion then talking over the top of him. Same with Durt Road Cred and his camera man Ryan. Let them talk FFS.

Seems to be a trend here...

Can anyone try to name ANY logical reason why someone would remove a very complete kit, for one that is missing some key components otherwise? I'll wait...
They got such a huge boner when they thought about buying overlanding ladders to go on their overlanding ready Jeep that all the blood left their brain for their penis and now rational thought is difficult?

Id say to show people they dont need to spend a ton on a lift kit to go do things but its AEV so thats not the case.

Oh holy shit. $1600 for entry level shocks and springs. I had no idea. Yeah I see the stamped brackets too, but that doesn’t add up 😆
