I just purchased a 2018 wrangler jl with Mopar lift and fox shocks, it has 35x12.50x20 on it. I reduced the cold pressure in the tires and it helped a little with wondering on the road but wondering if adding geometry correction brackets and an adjustable track bar will fix the issue or if it is something else?:jk:

The Mopar lift already comes with longer control arms, and the AEV brackets are designed for the shorter OE control arms. There is a risk it may overcorrect your caster - it's not able to be dialed in as precisely as it would be with adjustable control arms. However, the extra caster may help. Just temper your expectations with a Jeep on wider tires.

An adjustable trackbar is always recommended if the lift doesn't include it, but it won't do much for wandering. It'll just make sure suspension geometry is on point.

If you are going with correction brackets and plan to rock crawl it and bash them I would go with the Metalcloak ones over AEV.

Thanks for the information. New to the Jeep world, love the Jeep, just wanting to get it dialed in..
Thanks again

Control arms and geo correction brackets do different things.

Control arms correct the alignment. Brackets correct the geometry, with the side benefit of correcting the alignment.

I do agree with @yokramer - if you're going to be playing off road, the AEV brackets are thin. But I'd also say the same thing about the tires - you're better off with 35s on a 17" wheel than a 20" wheel if you're going to be intending to get off road too.

IMO you need to shakedown the entire front end. Ball joints, all ends, bolts and bolt holes. Also check to see if it has the steel steering box. The MOPAR lower arms are only 1/4 longer than stock, which I don't believe is enough, so I would do the drop brackets with them and would go with MetalCloak.

When you say wandering, is the feeling like some one walking on the tip of their feet and fighting to keep a balance or you find the steering not precise and vague ?

If my understanding is correct, The longer Mopar control arms improve caster. The Metalcloak drop brackets flatten the angle of the control arms and with the original factory control arms improve caster. To what extent you are going to feel the effect of the flatter angle of the control arms, I don’t know the answer to that.

If you lift your jeep over 2.5", the difference is night and day. Floats over bumps, tracks straight, less nose dive when hard braking, and the front tires pop up vertical obstacles a lot easier.

The MC brackets are beef, I smacked one this past weekend pretty good. FWIW I am running them with the longer Mopar lower arms. The longer arms are beefier than the OE parts.

OP, what offset wheels are you running? I run two sets of tires, KO2's on 17X9, -6mm offset, and a set of STT Pros on Jeep wheels on a 17X9, +12mm offset. The STT's are old and worn but track better onroad than the new KO2's. I attribute that to the wheel offset.

Not sure on the offset, but running BFG KO2's. Also read that the Fox stabilizer could be pushing to the right??? Seems more having to correct while tracking on the road. Im sure the 35's on 20 inch rims along with what looks like possible stock lower control arms ate the issue?? Would have preferred 17 inch wheels but was a great deal on a 2018 with inly 46000 miles.
Thanks again everyone. Will update my progress...

I will say the things we sell the most of to customers with the Mopar kits are adjustable front track bars and upper adjustable arms. These allow the axle to be centered and caster to be set. The alignment brackets do help the arm angles but not as much of a help on the 2.5 as the taller kits.

I hope I am replying correctly. I have never joined a forum before, I have the exact same thing, but on 17’s and it is not any better than what you are describing. I need to track perfectly because I will be towing behind an RV so I am headed to an off-road shop today in Orange County. Thanks for sharing. This is great information and good luck. Looking forward to your resolution!
