Corrosion issue correction next week

My jeep is going in for the hood hinges to be replaced ed along with the rear driver side door hinges and body hinges. my other sets are fine. the jeep is a 2020 white. Anything you guys can share that I should be aware of when it goes in? They said they paint match them when I drop pff the jeep. They paint them and then install. All I was told. Any tidbits or things to make sure of when they do the job. I was told once the case is open if I have any other hinges go I just bring it back in for correction.

You might as well give the whole vehicle a once-over to see if there are additional spots of rust

Before I took it I did. I concur with what they are saying also. All my other ones including tire gate ones are deff ok.

Aside from the hinges. I would check the hem flanges on the doors, hood and tailgate. That's where it starts and eventually spreads to the outside of the panel where you can see it. Per the latest TSB, any corrosion in the flange requires the panel to be replaced. If they are just sanding and repainting panels with corrosion along the edge, it will come back in short order.

bought my 2020 Wrangler in September of 2019 from a dealership outside of Michigan. I started noticing the corrosion problem in late 2021 or early 2022 I don’t remember. I took it to every dealership within 50 miles of me and contacted others by phone. I got the same answer from all of them including the dealership I bought from” we are back logged 1-2 years on warranty paint work and only excepting vehicles purchased at our dealership”. I called Jeep Cares in July of 2022 and my Jeep still isn’t fixed. My warranty expires on the 24th. I contacted Jeep cares and dealerships since July of 2022 and still get the same response. My 1st Jeep and definitely the last. Jeep Cares is a joke. The phone number they give you is for a call center outside the United States, at least that’s how it seems to be for me. This is what all my doors look like and the hood. Afraid to wash it. From what I’ve read about the issues, it’s not a hinge or bolt problem. Ppl said their jeeps were repainted but the corrosion came back. Others said they replaced the doors completely. Who knows what’s right or wrong.

Exactly.

I'd suggest treating all those areas with Corrosion X once you get the work done. It may not prevent the issue from coming back, but it wouldn't hurt. They use that stuff on aircraft to prevent corrosion, so I figure if anything works, it would be that stuff...
