I am about to replace OEM Michelin LTX M/S2 on my 2-door JL. The only off road driving I do is near every week, year-round on the beach on Cape Cod. The LTX aired down has been good, but the beach I most frequent is rocky, especially in winter, and I have a concern with the Michelin sidewalls on this terrain, so I am interested in a A/T that is good on sand, wet roads, and quiet on highway – and better in the snow than LTX. My Jeep shop gave me these 3 choices to consider: BFG K03, Falken Wildpeak AT4W, and Nitto Terra Grappler G3. I have read and watched reviews too many to count and every time I think I am about to decide, something steers me to another. I am looking for some real-world input from Jeepers – THANKS in advance! (Leaning towards KO3😊 )

Tires are ALWAYS a point of contention on forums. The three your shop recommended are indeed very good tires. I happen to run the Falken Wildpeaks AT on my Subaru Outback and they work very VERY well on that vehicle.

On my Jeep, I went to a full 33 inch BFG in a K02 that so far I am very happy with. They are 285/70-17’s on the Stock Willys Rims. Quiet, Smooth, and fit nicely in the wheel wells to fill them better than the stock 255/75-17 Mud Terrains.

I do have a question for you. Are you thinking White Letter tires? Might look nice on your Jeep!

To further confuse you check out Toyo AT3. I prefer them to the KO2’s they replaced, better wet/mud and nowhere near the rock magnets. They rate highly and are also light for size as apposed to heavy Falkens and Nittos. The ~9 lbs less weight is why I chose them over the MTBB. On balance a terrific tire and pleased with them. No snow but others have reported good performance.

Following, Ang1, any issues at all with the size change from 255/75/17’s, Soon to replace my stock Firestone Destinations MT’s on my 2021 Willys.. Had Goodyear Duratrac’s on my 2012, was thinking Duratrac’s on my 2021…. But want options also… The 285’s are a little jump from the stock…. Also, how about snow conditions and ratings, need something good for Northeast Pa….

If the LTX has worked for you to date, why not consider an all terrain that's still a passenger (rather than truck) tire? Such as the Baja Boss A/T but in the SL/XL ranges, not LT. For example, the Baja Boss comes in a 265/70R17 in XL rating. That would probably be more than sufficient without adding too much weight, stiffer ride, etc.

Yes on the RWL

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs. Full stop. I don't think I'll every buy another tire for either Jeep unless they just stop making them.

Baja Boss AT is indeed a great tire (and it is what I have on my Jeep), but they are much noisier than the LTX, and usually heavier and your MPG may suffer by a couple of MPG.

On the plus side, you wont have to worry about the sidewall on the LT sizes. The passenger sizes have one fewer ply on the sidewall.

If I were you, I'd go KO3. ATW4 does not perform well in snow.

Well, Falken makes the best A/T tire on the market and it's not close.

But, among all the other choices I guess I'd put them all in the "good" category. The stock KO2s (which are apparently different from the aftermarket ones) are surprisingly great in terms of traction and quiet ride, but they are only a 2 ply sidewall. The Mickey Thompson stuff is one of the thirty brands made by Cooper, and Cooper is now owned by Goodforayear, so I don't know why those are so popular. Those brands can be hard to balance and wear poorly sometimes.

What ever you do, stay away from Nitto. Most over-rated tires money can buy.

@jadmt Nothing is perfect and sometimes ish happens to any tire. Buying quality tires is a good investment. Still sucks buying the replacement, but that’s why we’re got five on the Jeep.

happy ending tho as on this set of tires I got the hazard warranty as Discount tires sold me 5 certificates for the price of 2 so I decided to do it and lo and behold it paid off :)..they replaced it no hassle at all.
