8.4" OEM Head Unit

I replaced my stock 8.4" OEM radio with an aftermarket radio. I was thinking of selling it, but I read somewhere that there is an "unlock" code for it. Can anyone shed some light on that? Thanks!

You’ll have to go to a dealership parts department with the radio serial number along with your VIN and they can generate an unlock code.

This plus proof of ownership will get you the code. Provided you find someone in the dealership parts or service dept that knows anything.

there are services online ( mostly on Ebay ) that can produce the unlock code if you provide them with the serial number of the unit... I don't think they can unlock all serial numbers but certain batches..

If you took it out of your Jeep you can do this over the phone with your dealership.
Have your vehicle VIN and the Uconnect serial number ready to give to them.
This was a huge hassle when the JL first came out. It’s much easier now.
