I bought a new 8.4" radio and installed it (no code required, it was a dealership order) and it's working fine. I ordered it via the Mopar online store, I didn't visit the dealership, hence the ask.

I have a 7" unit I want to give to my friend but need to ensure I have the 4 digit code.

Is anyone on here able to provide that? I have the documents to show my new radio purchase and can show you anything you want or need for the existing pull radio.

You need to contact your dealer and provide proof that the radio came from your vehicle. They should be able to help you out.

I have bought a couple radios and you will need to provide the VIN from your Jeep and the serial number from the radio. Try the parts department, sometimes they can look it up. Or they may send you to the Service Department.

We got it done, just went to the dealership. It's really something that should be provided to owners at the time of purchase.

The code is generated based on the radio serial number and the VIN. A new code is needed if the radio is installed in another vehicle.

Yes the code is generated the first time the radio is powered on, after that it stays the same for the life of the radio. I sold a radio that I had bought from someone else and the code didn’t change.

I bought a used radio from a stereo shop and they called a dealer with the serial number and my VIN to get an activation code for me. So based on your experience, maybe they didn't my VIN.
